Japanese animation director Satoshi Kon died last week of pancreatic cancer; he leaves behind a small though curiously dramatic oeuvre. Kon began his career as a comics artist, soon emerging as a talented background and layout artist. He would later become a director whose deliberate storyboarding and incisive narrative style were freakishly effective. Satoshi Kon's feature films 'Perfect Blue' (1997), 'Millennium Actress' (2001), and 'Paprika' (2006), will endure.

This has already had over 2 million views on You Tube, but I couldn’t ignore it for the Brew. Inspired by Taijin Takeuchi, Olympus Corp. created this viral for the 50th anniversary of their Pen Camera. They shot 60.000 pictures, developed 9,600 prints and shot over 1,800 pictures again. No post production. Cool.(Thanks, Rich LaPierre)
